Pay during holiday

In general, you receive your usual salary when you are on holiday. There may be situations, however, where this is not the case.

Pay during holiday with a changed degree of employment

You accrue holiday in relation to your degree of employment. This means that holiday accrued with 100% employment is holiday with full pay. If you are in a part-time period, you earn the same number of holiday days, but with a part-time salary.

Example

You are employed full-time from the start of the school year, but you agree with your school administrator to reduce your hours to 80% from 1 January. In the holiday year, you thereby earn:

  • 8.32 days of holiday with the right to full pay.
  • 16.64 days of holiday with the right to 80% pay.

If you take five days of holiday in week 42, 18 days of holiday in July and two days in August, the pay during your holiday will be as follows:

  • 5 holiday days in week 42 with full pay.
  • 3.32 holiday days in July with full pay.
  • 14.64 holiday days in July with 80% pay.
  • 2 holiday days in August with pay corresponding to your degree of employment in August.
