As a general rule, you must give the school one month’s notice of resignation, effective at the end of a month.
However, in connection with your hiring, the school may make a written agreement with you to extend this notice period on the condition that the school’s notice period for termination is extended by a corresponding number of months.
If you were hired before 1 August 1995, the notice period may be longer. Check your letter of appointment.
Resigning usually triggers a three-week period during which you are not eligible for unemployment benefit, unless there are special circumstances. You must also register with the “Jobcenter”.
